What a ride.
So, it’s done. That brings an end to our first project at Jinsei, and man, what a project. From the initial enthusiasm and daily releases to sometimes struggling to get a release out within four days, it’s been a long journey for us. We’ve had disagreements (though very few) and we’ve had fun (lots of it). For me, it was a great opportunity to revisit a series I’ve always loved, and one that’s rightfully acclaimed. This last episode packs as much of a punch as you’d expect, I knew what was going to happen beforehand and I still had a lump in my throat. Amazing stuff.
We’ve touched on the author of Nana in previous posts, one Yazawa Ai. You may notice that the anime feels a little unfinished, and you have questions regarding what happens next, which characters did what and why. Well, join the masses. The mangaka got ill and the story remains sadly unfinished. If you enjoyed her work this time round, some of her other works have been adapted into anime, look for Gokinjo Monogatari and Paradise Kiss. As for Nana itself, there are two live action movies in circulation. The Nobu actor really annoys the hell out of me but eh, you might enjoy it!
As for Caly and myself… I’m taking another hiatus from subbing due to time constraints. You can find Caly working for a handful of active subbing groups, she’s doing AKB0048 and Sword Art Online for Evetaku, Yuru Yuri 2 for SHiN-gx and Arcana Famiglia for Whine Subs. You can also find her lurking on the european servers of Forsaken World, doing her healing thing.

There were some v2s in the first batch, the second batch will all be final versions. But yeah, both the batches are complete and final. ETA around 5 hours on the second half batch, Squiggy’s at work til then.

Ahhh, I can’t believe we’ve come to the last episode. It was a wonderful ride though, can’t deny that. Is anyone else having a problem with episode 39? I’m getting F787C52 from a CRC check instead of 0025F85F. I’ve tried redownloading with no luck. I don’t really notice any problems with playback so I’m wondering if it’s fine and the CRC in the file name is wrong.
Actually there is a problem with playback on episode 39, head over to 1min38sec on that episode and you ll see what i mean. Hoping for a v2 *fingers crossed*

I don’t have a problem with #39, and the checksum passes for me. I downloaded the files as they came from nyaa/tokyotosho (can’t actually remember, I delegate everything to RSS) though – did you perhaps download the batch torrent? I can’t speak for that.
PS: still planning to submit to bakabt Calyrica, but have you seen the backlog on there? 100+… Admins are asleep at the wheel apparently.
PPS: I’m also watching AKB0048, amused to see that you’re on the staff there as well! Keep up the good work and please get on with your next project :]

Following mrmeowski’s comment, i went and downloaded episode 39 separately from every source i could find with a fast search. Ended up downloading it from uploaded.to and toucansharing.com (the link provided with the entry of Episode Thirty-Nine in this site). At the time of writing this, nyaa had 0 seeders so i couldn’t test a 3rd source.
I m more than happy to report that it works! Both the file downloaded from uploaded.to and the one from toucansharing.com did NOT have the problem @ 1m38sec. Both also pass the CRC check, reporting the same value as in the file name! So it’s only the batch apparently that has the episode 39 issue (or at least for me and blackice85 anyway), downloading it from its separate post does the trick.
Yeah it was the batch torrent that had the problem file, I had tried the single torrents but they hand’t any seeders. The uploaded.to source worked for me now. Thanks for the responses everyone
